Dr. Andrew Levada, M.D. and Dr. Tara Cronin, M.D. are The Eye Care Group's fellowship-trained specialists in pediatric ophthalmology and adult and pediatric strabismus, or misalignment of the eyes.

Our doctors are skilled in diagnosing and treating all pediatric eye conditions, including:

  • Nearsightedness
  • Farsightedness
  • Blocked Tear Ducts
  • Retinopathy of prematurity
  • Nystagmus
  • Ocular Tumors
  • Inherited eye conditions
  • Amblyopia
  • Strabismus (lazy eye)
  • Pediatric glaucoma
  • Pediatric cataracts

In addition, many systemic conditions, such as craniofacial syndromes, genetic syndromes, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis, have associated eye findings that we help diagnose and treat. We pride ourselves on our communication with you and your pediatrician and the skill and comfort of our pediatric eye care team when working with your child or adolescent. You can also rest assured that you have 24-hour access to one of our doctors 7 days a week for ocular emergencies.

On your initial visit, expect that your child will need eye drops that dilate the eyes and temporarily prevent accommodation, or focusing, to obtain an accurate assessment of refractive error and a thorough examination of the retina. The full effect of these drops requires approximately 40 minutes to dilate. Please plan on ariving 15 minutes early or complete the registration form prior to your appointment. We recommend that you plan on an appointment length of approximately one hour for your initial visit.
