Damage to the cornea can result from severe dry eye, trauma, infection, chronic inflammation, and inherited conditions, such as corneal dystrophies. We recommend that you plan on an initial appointment length of approximately 2 hours and arrive either 15 minutes early or complete the registration form prior to your appointment. In addition, Dr. Geffin may recommend that you undergo special testing and imaging, such as corneal topography or anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT), to help guide your diagnosis and treatment. Treatment options may include observation, eye drops or oral medications, laser procedures, or surgery.
