time as possible with his
wife and two daughters
vacationing on Cape Cod.

Dr. Andrew J. Levada is a pediatric ophthalmologist who also has a special
interest in adult eye muscle problems and cataract surgery. He joined
The Eye Care Group in 1983 following his residency and fellowship at
the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Institute. Prior to this, he graduated
from the Physics Department of Princeton University as well as Harvard
Medical School. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology
and the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American
Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Levada is also a member of the
American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, The Connecticut
Society of Eye Physicians and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgery. He is past president of the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians and
Prevent Blindness Connecticut, and has served as section Chief of Ophthalmology
at St. Mary's Hospital and Waterbury Hospital Health Center.
He was the first investigator in New England to use Botox® which was pioneered to treat eye muscle problems, and which is now
used in many
areas of medicine. He is currently a member of the Pediatric Eye Disease
Investigator Group participating in a number of National Eye Institute
multi-center trials designed to advance the state-of-the-art of strabismus
and lazy eye treatment.
