|Robert L. Lesser MD
Dr. Lesser obtained his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and his Bachelor of Science degree from Queens College, City University of New York. He completed his ophthalmology residence at Yale University in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science and did additional training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
He is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Science and Neurology at Yale. He is also Clinical Professor of Neurology and Surgery (Neurosurgery) at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Dr. Lesser is a former Chief of Neuro-Ophthalmology at Yale and was on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology. He is a recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Honor Award and has been listed in many publications as one of the “Best Doctors in America”. He has been honored by receiving the Teaching Award from the Yale Ophthalmology Department on two separate occasions.
He has written and published many articles and textbook chapters and has spoken at meetings across the country and internationally. Dr. Lesser is a fellow of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the Academy of Ophthalmology and a former President of the Yale Alumni in Ophthalmology.
