Stanley B. Hersh, MD
Dr. Stanley Hersh joined The Eye Care Group in 1976 after completion of training in ophthalmology at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Hersh is an honors graduate of Chicago Medical School and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at Yale University School of Medicine. He is past director of a Yale Residents' Glaucoma Clinic at West Haven Veteran's Hospital. Dr. Hersh was the former Chief of Ophthalmology at both Waterbury and St. Mary's Hospitals. His specialties include glaucoma and cataract surgery.
Dr. Hersh is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the National Medical School Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He is past president of the Yale Alumni in Ophthalmology.
Besides his busy practice in ophthalmology, Dr. Hersh stays active with various hobbies including swimming, fitness sports, scuba diving, gardening, kayaking and traveling. Dr. Hersh and his wife especially enjoy their four granddaughters.
